2021 wasn't the easiest year and it doesn't look like we're back to normal come January 1st. Making the most of life during the pandemic is what we need to do. We have bent some rules to keep going and we'll continue to find a way so we can do what we love most. Looking back at 2021 it actually wasn't such a bad year (event-wise) but they were just not ran the way we want to. No crowds allowed, wearing masks, staying 6 feet apart, testing, testing and more testing, vaccinations, disifecting the hands...... it has been a mess. Just getting a beer at the bar with your friends seems like ages ago. Here's to better times in 2022. Keep doing what you love most. We'll see you at the next occasion.

P.S. This is the annual Happy Holidays post where we collect the best BMX inspired X-mas cards. Got one? Send it in, we'll post it up. Cheers.

Your iPhone, Android or Windows based smartphone or tablet’s home screen isn’t just for apps. Whatever platform you’re using, you can pin FATBMX to your home screen so you can quickly access the latest worldwide BMX news 24/7. Here's how.
Add FATBMX to the Home Screen on your iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch
Launch the Safari browser on Apple’s iOS and navigate to the home page of FATBMX.com. Tap the Share button on the browser’s toolbar — that’s the rectangle with an arrow pointing upward. It’s on the bar at the top of the screen on an iPad, and on the bar at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone or iPod Touch.
Tap the Add to Home Screen icon in the Share menu. The FATBMX shortcut will be added with a nice icon and can be dragged around and placed anywhere, including in app folders — just like a normal app icon. When you tap the icon, it will load the website in a normal tab inside the Safari browser app.
Other browsers, like Chrome for iOS, don’t offer this feature. Due the limitations in Apple’s iOS, only Apple’s own Safari browser is allowed to do this.
Add FATBMX to the Home Screen on your Android Phone or Tablet
Launch Chrome for Android and and navigate to the home page of FATBMX.com. Tap the menu button and tap Add to homescreen.
You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen. Chrome for Android loads the website as a “web app” when you tap the icon, so it will get its own entry in the app switcher and won’t have any browser interface getting in the way.
Other popular Android browsers also offer this feature.
For example, Firefox for Android can do this if you tap the menu button, tap the Page option, and tap Add to Home Screen.
For other browsers, please check the documentation of your browser app.
Add FATBMX to the Home Screen on Windows 10, 8, & RT
Windows 10, 8, and RT devices also offer a way to pin websites to your Start screen. This is obviously most useful on phones and tablets, not on desktop PCs where you don’t want to see the Start screen. On the Windows desktop, you can pin website shortcuts to your taskbar for easier access.
Add FATBMX to the Home Screen of your on Windows 10 phone
Open the Internet Explorer browser. Navigate to the home page of FATBMX.com and click the three dots in the right bottom. From the menu that appears, click Pin to Start. The website will appear as a tile on your Start screen.
Windows 8, & RT
Open the Internet Explorer browser. Navigate to the home page of FATBMX.com and pull up the app bar — for example, by right-clicking or swiping up from the bottom of your screen — and tap the star icon. Tap the pin icon and click Pin to Start. The website will appear as a tile on your Start screen.
We've added flyers of events happening in 2022. Some are being held indoors but not all of them. Due to the Covid-19 virus a lot of them have been postponed to a later stage in 2022. Check before you make any plans. If you have event dates, if you've got something going, send us the info or better, add the event yourself. Add your event to the FATBMX Event calendar so more people will get to know about your race or contest or jam that you're putting on. We're here to spread the love but you figure out yourself where you need to go. Contact the event organizers before you head over. Times/dates might have changed and we take no responsibility for that. Get together and enjoy BMX, the best thing in the world. 2022 Flyers inside as well as the event dates. Nothing else to do!? Get out there and have some fun. Meet new people, visit new places, take some pics for your instagram, pull new tricks, become a better person and maybe win something along the way. Lots has changed or is changing so double check and keep us posted. It's a crazy world we live in at the moment.
2022 BMX Race and BMX Freestyle events:
It might have been delayed by a year, but Tokyo 2020 was worth the wait for Swiss Freestyle BMX star Nikita Ducarroz who took a stunning bronze medal. She followed that up by taking the European Championship title in Moscow in November and now finishes the year with RASOULUTION, her new management. Signing with the Munich based sports marketing agency, which has a long history in managing cyclists, was a logical step for North Carolina based Nikita, who has followed the agency and its riders for some time.
About joining the agency, Nikita said: “I’m so stoked to join RASOULUTION for 2022 and beyond! I’ve been following them for many years so it’s very exciting that this amazing crew now has my back.
It's here! The 2022 USABMX Freestyle Amateur National Championship schedule is confirmed. For 2022, we've added two events, both being new locations in Longview Texas and Newberg Oregon. We're pretty happy about this schedule and are looking forward to getting it all started on January 28th in Tucson.
Please note, we will be adding 5 digital competitions to the schedule in the next few days. Like in 2021, not all scores will count towards the overall National Age Group Ranking. More on this soon. We were excited about confirming the National schedule and wanted to get this to everyone asap so travel arrangements could be made.
In cleveland Ohio, a young boy named Huck Kurinsky has been able to break the world record, for being the youngest person ever to do a backflip with a BMX bike. Huck has been riding bikes since he was just three-years old, meaning his fearless nature was very much instilled within him. It is believed that the pandemic is what fuelled the courage to practice in solitary practice continuously, due to many schools switching to remote practice, to accommodate the pandemic. Many now say that Huck will be the next prodigy in the sport, amongst all the other names that have made history within the decades to pass. If you are personally looking to support fellow BMX sports champions, make sure to consider placing sports bets, as it provides a great opportunity of making returns from the support you have within the field of BMX.
Huck has managed to take his hobby very seriously thus far, making sure to enter into every competition he can get his hands on. Additionally, Huck got the chance to train with professionals, under a scholarship known as the X Games Summer Camp, hosted within Pennsylvania. All of the tutoring, practice and guidance lead him to participate within the US National Competition, hosted within California. It was in that competition that he wowed the crowd and viewers with a complete backflip, at just 6-years old!
It takes an “Off The Wall” mindset and a lot of confidence to pull off the tricks that make Dan Lacey one of the most respected riders in BMX, but it also takes the proper support. The Dan Lacey Slip-On BMX is equipped with Vans trusted Wafflecup™ BMX construction to deliver maximum support, with a focus on increased pedalfeel and durability. A best-in-class PopCush™ drop-in footbed snaps back and won’t pack, offering a full heel cradle and increased arch support. DURACAP™ provides reinforced underlays in high-wear areas to prolong the life of the shoe.
Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, is proud to partner with one of the most established street riders in BMX, Dan Lacey, on the Slip-On BMX, influenced by his unrelenting, all-or-nothing approach and his lifelong experiences calling the UK home.
Residing in Hastings, UK, Dan has a distinguished and refined style that is both heavy and progressive, honed from growing up immersed in a strong BMX scene and a commitment to perfection—all of which makes his execution of the biggest tricks look effortless. For Dan’s take on the Slip-On BMX, Vans designed a shoe that matches his riding, with next level pedalfeel, support and durability. Style is everything when it comes to Dan’s approach, which is reflected in a muted color palette and an elevated two-tone suede upper with meaningful detailing.
Dan’s signature Slip-On features a timeless design in asphalt and pewter, with a crown emblem
It’s been a decade since Vans and CULT linked up for the first time, and in celebration of all the clips, collaborations, road trips, riding, sneakers and shirts since then, the two have come together for a sixth collection that’s dubbed “Never Fade” and centered around new takes on the Old Skool BMX and Slip-On BMX, both equipped with Vans’ Wafflecup BMX construction. The Old Skool BMX supplies a monochromatic upper constructed of sturdy black suede and embellished with a special branded tongue tag. The Slip-On BMX features tonal, patterned CULT iconography and a two-tone build that uses both black suede and light canvas. Text graphics appear on the midsole of the Old Skool BMX and the insoles of the Slip-On BMX, the latter of which also repurposes the aforementioned CULT pattern for even more detail. Both round their look off with debossed CULT branding on the heel.
